CHAPTER FOUR

Prince Thauses and Princess Nuraī continued to soar upwards and at a diagonal towards the firmament. "The Morningstar, it senses him near," the princess said. The chariot sped faster than before, so much so that both had to close their eyes and trust that where they arrive they would still be protected. Just before it reached the undergirding of the firmament it slowed. The remnant of the stars which returned to the chariot's wheel long ago heard the warnings of those stars far above. They could see the density of it all, but some of the stars performed a great spectacle for the prince and princess. It transformed an entire area from its murky appearance to that of clarity. Prince Thauses and Princess Nuraī could see exactly where he was and what he was looking towards—(X)ūpraeth. Thauses became angered, but exercised restraint. It was Princess Nuraī , however, who needed to speak in order to crack the

tension.

"I see him as you do," the princess said. "He appears awful and I do not refer to his physicality."

"He who possesses no light can manifest only his horrendous true self," the

prince said. Nuraī turned to see if all was well with her husband. It was not. The intensity of Thauses face was enough to cut through this heavenly expanse without

the assistance of the stars.

"We will seize him soon enough. Then Aueneiss shall meet his end." Thauses had yet to acknowledge Nuraī . He narrowed his eyes to verity what he saw initially. It did not please him. The prince wished to proceed, but it was not he who guided the chariot. Even without the glass dragon, this commanding star was able to accept the lone responsibility of this transport. Perhaps it was due to its awareness to be amongst its kindred as Princess Nuraī longed to return to hers. Nonetheless, it stayed the mystical chariot. Every act had its time. The Morningstar knew. Prince Thauses contemplated this for many years. He endeavored to not forget this important lesson in the moment. The prince wrestled with his thoughts concerning the living reminder of Eleyanra. He sensed that her brother was to invade (X)ūpraeth as she did, though Tanauf advised Aueneiss against it. "Thauses?" Finally, he had quelled what was surging within him.

"I am aware, Nuraī ." She was not reassured until he looked at him and away from the transparent view above. "It is better for us to apprehend him."

"You do not wish to destroy Aueneiss?"

"I never uttered or implied such, but he is a fugitive from your kingdom. Do you not think it best to return him there, for you to issue the decree of death?" Nuraī did not know how to respond. The Udharīan queen regent Muraeth believed rather she to behead him with her powerful sword than anyone else. Thauses' eyes read death for Aueneiss and though she saw the same for the fugitive, she wished that another avenue, where she or Thauses had to be the hand for Eleyanra's brother to meet his inevitable fate.
